Pay: £42-43k
Location: Northwest, UK
Hours: Monday - Friday 40hrs (No Callout Required)

Full Job Description:
As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will undertake a wide range of duties, including reactive repairs, maintenance, and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on heating and combustion systems. The role also includes diagnosing and repairing system faults, basic electrical fault finding, and carrying out minor plumbing tasks. You ll play an essential role in maintaining compliance and ensuring the optimal performance of systems within various settings.

Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Perform reactive repairs on heating and combustion systems within set time frames to meet client standards.
  • Proactively identify and complete necessary heating and combustion maintenance work.
  • Conduct PPM tasks on heating and combustion systems to ensure statutory compliance.
  • Undertake system improvements and diagnose faults, including basic electrical fault finding.
  • Ensure the proper servicing and upkeep of all plant room equipment.
  • Manage stock control and maintain cleanliness in plant rooms, workshops, and storage areas.
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of a scheduled rota.
  • Complete all necessary administration accurately and on time, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Perform commercial and domestic installations, along with fault finding and servicing.
  • Carry out minor plumbing works as required.

Requirements:

  • ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas qualifications, including:
    • Domestic (CCN1, CEN1, CPA1)
    • Commercial (CIGA1, COCN1, CBHP1, ICPN1, TPCP1A)
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in a similar service role.
  • Flexibility in approach to work and ability to adapt to varying tasks.

Desirable:

  • HVAC Control Systems knowledge.
  • Basic electrical qualification, e.g., 17th edition IEE.
  • Experience with PFI building maintenance.
  • Legionella Awareness and knowledge of pressure system regulations.
  • Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems).
