Job Description

Estates Clerk of Works, Southampton, to £38k plus package.

Our client, a world leading organisation in the field of climate science, is recruiting an Estates Clerk of Works to be responsible for inspection, recording & reporting of quality and progress of construction and refurbishment works on a complex site that includes dockyard, scientific laboratories, high-tech workshops, warehousing and office space.

The site is undergoing a range of minor, long term maintenance, and capital construction projects and we need a knowledgeable individual to ensure that the work undertaken is delivered safely and to the appropriate standard and agreed specification.

This includes the issuing of all permits to work associated with each project, and manage signing off snagging work. The role will work in partnership with the Project Management team giving operational advice to facilitate the successful delivery of Estates projects on time, on cost and at the required quality.

About you

You will have experience of working on Estates related projects, covering plant equipment installs, minor and major construction works, and refurbishment of internal areas, with the ability to interpret detailed technical drawings for construction and building services.

You will have a high level of knowledge and understanding of the latest Building and Construction legislation, Safe Systems of Work and extensive experience in the management of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

A very proactive and flexible approach will be required.
