Job Description

I am currently working alongside a large, registered charity on their search for a Fire Alarm Engineer to cover one of 207 sites on a daily basis to provide maintenance support as part of a growing team.

The roles responsibilities include:

  • To carry out routine planned and /or preventative servicing of Fire Detection & Alarm System,
  • To attend reactive call outs and repairs to Fire Detection & Alarm System,
  • To carry out small installation works of Fire Detection & Alarm System,
  • To carry out servicing and small works to Emergency Lighting Systems.
  • To carry out servicing of Fire Extinguishers.
  • To carry out Fire Door Inspections.
  • To advise sites on actions identified on their Fire Risk Assessment.
  • To work to safe health and safety practices at all times.
  • To complete Fire Systems Engineer work reports, certificates, compliance checks as appropriate.
  • To provide accurate job reports and support information.
  • To maintain a strong understanding of relevant British Standards and best practices.
  • Actively support the expanding application of new technology to improving service delivery.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have at least 3 consecutive years' experience as a Fire Systems Engineer, (installation, servicing and small works).
  • Understand and be knowledgeable on BS5839, BS5266.
  • Understand and be knowledgeable on L1, L2, L3 & L4 fire detection requirements and how to apply them.
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, IET, IMechE or BAFE accredited)
  • In-depth knowledge of Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety Act 2021.
