  • Location: Morley, with travel to the Leeds/Huddersfield area
  • Salary: £29,000


My client is looking to hire a driven housing officer to join a growing, collaborative team. Reporting into the senior Housing officer, you will work alongside another housing officer covering a portfolio of circa 460 properties consisting of assisted living and general needs flats. 

Duties of the role include:

  • To assist with the housing management of local authority homes including homes across extra care facilities. 
  • Provide support to across a range of housing management issues including but not limited to; rental income and debt management, anti social behaviour, breaches of tenancy, succession and assignment, all in accordance with relevant legislation and contract policy and procedures.
  • Take action and develop initiatives to solve problems and beat the specification at every opportunity
  • Support the delivery of our repairs and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in providing help and support to customers including advice on rent payments where appropriate. 
  • Ensure customers meet and maintain all the obligations outlined in their tenancy agreement.   
  • Develop close working partnerships with a number of different organisations.
  • Working alongside the other housing offices and housing manager to minimise void turnaround times
  • Help with the Preparation of documents that may be used in case conferences or as evidence in court.
  • To be an integral part of the housing management team, deputising in the absence of colleagues and carrying out any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as required.


Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a housing officer
  • Able to work from the Morley office in Leeds.
  • Good standard of written English
  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Have good IT skills and be able to use a variety of software packages such as Excel and other office applications.
  • Hold a current UK driving license and have daily use of a vehicle.
