Our client who is a world leader in energy services is recruiting a Lead Shift Engineer to be based at a large site in central London. This is a permanent full-time role working 42 hours per week. The shift rota is a 4 on 4 off days ( 0700-1900) & nights ( 1900 – 0700).
The role:
- It is the Shift Leaders role to act as a coordination point for the day-to-day activities on site between the shift team, specialist service partners and ongoing project works
- Provision of all-round engineering support, maintaining the building infrastructure
- Have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings, and comply with the Health & Safety/building codes of practice
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs, and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best practice
- Assist the Contracts Manager to operate on a daily basis with self-autonomy dealing with everything from SHEQ, personnel management, subcontractor management, contract management, budget control, engineering planning and execution, planned preventative maintenance, etc
- The Operation will include:
- Building Management Systems and electrical monitoring Control system Air handling, conditioning and terminal units - FCU and CRAC Cooling tower plant
- Domestic water services
- Fire prevention and detection systems
- Sprinklers and wet risers Fire alarm and voice alarm VESDA Fire suppression
- Variable speed drives Generators, load banks and controls AC, DC single phase and three phase motors UPS systems, batteries, static switches and associated controls
- Emergency lighting Low voltage switch panels and associated breakers High voltage switch panels and the operation of high voltage systems (11kV) including transformers and VCB’s (training and familiarisation with this system will be made available)
- Boiler Operation and Water Treatment Testing Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance techniques
- Understanding of all relevant legislative and statutory requirements relating to the site Control and implementation of Safe Systems of Work To assist the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of site budgets.
Who are we looking for?
- HV Authorised Person (Desirable). Candidates without HV qualification will be inducted onto a training course
- Apprenticeship, primary trade qualifications and substantial experience within a building services environment
- C&G 236 Parts 1 and 2 or mechanical equivalent
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation
This role includes a DBS Standard check, therefore, ability to pass is essential. Please note there is no parking on site.
