We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a site in Derby on behalf of our client.  This is a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week on a commercial transportation site.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively performing electrical maintenance including emergency lighting and reactive works
  • Follow a PPM schedule and ensure compliance in a flexible and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all required Building Engineering services as per the Engineering Building strategy are carried out.
  • Require you to provide Contractor Management support under situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
  • The role will require the individual to develop requirements into agreed work briefs, scopes, and schedules of works for pricing internally
  • You will be working as part of a wider engineering team and so there may be a requirement for them to pick up other tasks that may not be specifically related to electrical systems.
  • Primary regard must be given to Health, Safety, and Environmental Quality considerations

Complexity:

  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work.
  • Act as Site LV AP completing isolations for others.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification/City and Guilds or Equivalent
  • 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS7671 (17th edition considered and training provided)
  • MEWP 3A & 3B (Desirable)
  • Act as an Appointed Person / Responsible Person for Technical Disciplines, as required
  • Possess good communication skills and be a team player
  • Have experience of PPM and reactive maintenance
