Mechanical Assembly Operative

11.14 per hour + 1.34 per hour holiday pay

All hours worked over the basic 37.5 hours will be paid at 1.33x

3 Months temporary to permanent

Shift Pattern: 7am - 4pm Monday - Friday

This well-established company is currently going through a rapid growth phase and is looking to increase the size of their manufacturing facility. Having won numerous projects with major companies that oversee projects for substantial electrical installations across the world, this business is now looking to add several Mechanical Assembly Operatives to ensure that the product is delivered on time and to budget. Excellent training and development is offered, and they are looking for individuals with excellent mechanical skills and a desire and ability to learn.

The role of a Mechanical Assembly Operative role will involve:

  • Utilising an assembly kit and following Basic Engineering drawings
  • Assembling a wide variety of mechanical cabinets made up of fabricated parts.
  • Manual construction of metal components using nuts, bolts, and rivets
  • Utilising 5S to ensure that you are working in a clean & tidy environment
  • Adhere to the company's standards and produce high quality work
  • Using hand tools and some power tools to assemble the equipment
  • Day Shift Pattern - 7am to 4pm (Mon-Fri)
  • Overtime available and paid at 1.33x

The role of a Mechanical Assembly Operative will possess the following skills:

  • An understanding of mechanical assembly, this could be in any role or environment
  • Mechanical assembly of equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Working on cars / trucks / bikes - maintenance or new build
  • Construction of mechanical equipment on new offices or factories
  • Be able to use hand tools e.g., Hammers, wrenches, spanners, screwdrivers, pliers, clamps and allen keys
  • Hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic
  • Desire and ability to learn
  • Good communication skills
