Job Description

Fabricator / Welder - Prestonpans

Multiple Positions Available

Permanent - 15- 16 p/h (Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x)

Plenty of Overtime Available (Average Earnings approx. 35k- 40k per annum)

This impressive company has experienced some excellent growth over the last 5 years having diversified into several different markets. After some project wins recently, they are looking to grow their headcount in the manufacturing side of the business, to ensure that they can deliver to their clients in a timely manner. They are now looking to recruit multiple Fabricator/Welders at their site in Prestonpans on a permanent basis.

The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for the following.

  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Using Copper, thickness varying between 1mm and 10mm
  • Components will include vessels, piping, stands and frames.
  • TIG welding predominantly, with some MIG welding too.
  • Using manual machines for cutting, guillotining, bending, and folding the stainless steel
  • Basic hours of 37.5 per week. Paid overtime, average 50 hours a week.

The candidate must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:

  • Previous welding or fabrication experience
  • Welding is most important; the fabricating skills can be taught.
  • C&G Fabrication & Welding or 4 Year Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3)
  • TIG Welding experience
  • Able to read Engineering Drawings
  • Worked in Aerospace, Naval, Nuclear, Food, Pharmaceutical, Brewing, Distillery, O&G, Chemical, Catering Equipment industries previously.
  • Flexible, good work ethic, autonomous, use own initiative, and willingness to learn.
